Exploring Solipsism Syndrome, the belief that nobody is real besides yourself
During a time of continual stress and bad luck, I started to ponder the mindset of those that have been clinically diagnosed to believe they are the only real person in this world. I cannot help but think that every delusion is based on some evidence, whether it is a small fraction of the meaning, or if there is gravity to the evidence. So I entered a thought experiment to understand what the world would be if this was actually factual. And the funny thing about it, it started to relate with many different bits of available knowledge. If at the very least, it might be a mindset adjustment tool.
So let’s say you really are the only person in the world and everybody else is a simulation. What would cause bad luck? What would cause unnecessary hostility projected at you? I am sure I’m not alone in experiencing times where it appears that it is me versus the world. So what if it is like a dream and your projected consciousness causes all of these undesirable instances? Your life becomes an interpretation of your subconscious.
The law of attraction is very similar to this idea, so far. What if your projected consciousness were to be that life is unfair and no matter what you do, you will be sabotaged? And it does not necessarily have to be a conscious decision that this is your projected consciousness, it could easily be subconscious. I will admit that the law of attraction and manifestation is something I’ve never given much thought to, because there are other levels to explain it. But let’s go further down the rabbit hole.
If you are intending to do something that may disrupt the consistent cycle of life, and life found out about this, you may have some random sabotaging occur to you. (Again, merely walking through this mindset, in which being the only real person is reality) it might not have to be that you are actually taking action toward anything, it might be as simple as you have been thinking about it with intent. If you were the only individual in this life, and how you picture life is what life becomes, then your thoughts would likely become an open threat on some levels.
I forget the term, but there is a name for what occurs when you buy a brand new car. You’ve never seen the car on the road before but after you own it for a short while, you begin seeing this car everywhere on the road. So if you are deciding what your life is, then you naturally begin to notice the things that rationalize this lifestyle or pave the way for you to attain this lifestyle. Merely thinking about it heavily will draw out opportunities that otherwise you would have missed simply because your mind was not tuned to that frequency, so to speak.
So this delusion that earns people a diagnosis of being under the impression that they are the only person in the world, has a couple of different scientifically proven bits of evidence that could rationalize this. But what causes the confusion between reality and delusion? There must be more than these simple things you could look up.
How about those times when you begin pondering in depth, a new opinion or idea and then you suddenly see it posted all over the Internet? Finding random videos in your feed that talk about it or comments on videos or posts. What could cause this? I know for a fact I am not alone in this experience, as I see many people talking about it in the comments as well. This sensation of reading your own thoughts posted on the Internet, by someone else.
There are a few different reasons I believe this occurs. But let’s wrap this around the main topic. If you were experiencing this delusion and then began to see your comments already posted for you by complete strangers, this would be an easy way to get pushed over the edge. But why does this happen? Here is one theory.
I spent some time working at various phone jobs in my youth. There was an interesting phenomenon that would occur. The customers that we were calling would go from agreeable and kind to hostile and difficult and then back again within the span of 30-60 min. On many occasions, me and my coworkers would compare notes when this shift occurred by way of loudly complaining or celebrating. The lead source was not changed, most of the time, but on occasion it was just redials that were causing the mood swing. Otherwise, it was as if there was some sort of frequency pushing emotions into the population.
Back then, and now, I rationalize this with the information found in a study about classical music, helping plants grow. Someone did not like this study, and decided they should play heavy-metal, which was their favorite music. They, additionally, hated classical music. The opposite occurred, the plants died with classical music and flourished with heavy-metal. After some digging, they discovered that the emotional state of an individual can alter the molecular structure of water in a visible way under a microscope. Therefore it is the emotion that helps plants, not the music.
So now there is a scientifically proven explanation that your emotions carry across the air and can affect water. We are 70% water, and therefore can pick up on other people's emotions. How or why this occurs is something that they were unable to determine.
So I rationalized that this emotional frequency can travel through electrical frequencies. In other words, your emotions can transfer to the individual you are speaking with over the phone. I came to two conclusions. Either there was someone at the call center with a deep well of wildly swinging emotions that would then upset or excite everyone we were talking with, or since there is so much electricity going through modern civilization, it could be someone or a group of people out there with wild, swinging emotions that then affect the nation. Perhaps the world.
Then of course, there is the concept of ESP and telepathy. I am happy to find that this is becoming more of a mainstream concept on the Internet as nonverbal communication occurs on many different levels in scientifically proven ways. Instead of explaining all of those different studies, I will just point out that empathy is a process of understanding what someone is going through. Some individuals are empathetic enough to interpret someone’s emotions by a mere look. This is nonverbal communication, which could easily be classified as telepathy by definition.
More and more backing concepts, studies and theories, came to mind that then explain to me how someone finds their way to believing they are the only person in this world. So I experimented a little bit with this idea.
I decided to project my consciousness intentionally with a heavy focus on what I desired to occur. Some might call this manifestation, but I was putting it in the light of me being the only person experiencing my life in this world. And I began to notice some alterations that could easily be explained, simply by whatever that term is that describes buying a new car and seeing it everywhere.
I began paying closer attention to who I would interact with, and there are some people that appear to be on auto pilot. But at other times they do not. And I understand that everybody does get tired, but what if there was an astronomical spiritual explanation to this? Perhaps our spirits explore different possibilities, and that is where our consciousness goes. And when you are present, then you are not in auto pilot, but seemingly focused compared to many others.
Everyone is trying to fulfill their dreams in this life. Whether that is by sheer grit and maximum effort, or by trying to achieve some level of equatable success by sabotaging someone else that has achieved your dream. The latter is unfortunately very common. But nonetheless, we are all trying to aim for progress. As each of us are attempting to slip by unnoticed, so that the sabotagers do not pick up on our success, we will naturally want to remain hidden, and therefore separate from the collective. Once you achieve a level of success, and it becomes known, then you instantly become a target. This target is merely just another word for bad luck, or a string of stressful events.
So I have concluded that the delusion of being the only individual in the world becomes a diagnosable delusion when that individual has a set of different frailties that expose them to a consistent weakness. That exposed them to a consistent level of flawed thought. It would only become a diagnosable delusion if it were harmful to you or others. Therefore, if you were unable to separate theory from reality, then you can be easily drowned in this delusion.
Nevertheless, this delusion has taught me a new method of achieving my goals. If you aim for success, you will look for success so long as you have fully decided, that is what you want. Additionally, it is paramount that you are able to explain to yourself why you deserve that level of success. If you cannot rationalize why you deserve to achieve your dream, then you might be aiming too high. It needs to become your reality before you achieve it. You need to become the person that deserves to have that lifestyle, and then that lifestyle will occur with much less effort. Making it appear that the world is your subconscious, and therefore being the only real person in the world.
